Desmond Ford was born in Whangarei in 1954. He moved to Canada in 1968 where he graduated with a Diploma of Architectural Technology. He returned to NZ in 1982 where he pursued his interest in creative writing and sculpture.Several of his works are held in the James Wallace Arts Trust Collection.
