Christian Nicolson graduated in Design in 1992 and has worked as Art Director in design and advertising agencies until 2004. During that year he won Magazine Designer of the Year at the NZMPA for designing Pulp Magazine. Since then Nicolson has pursued his career as a fulltime artist, both in painting, sculpture and large environmental installations. His installations have received wide acclaim, particulary his Toi Toi Experiment. Two of his sculpture works are now in the James Wallace Collection. Nicolson has been represented by Parnell Gallery for the past four years and Little Surfer is his first solo exhibition at this Gallery.
