Dale Gallagher is an emerging landscape artist based in Christchurch.
A self-taught painter, Dale has been dedicated to capturing the New Zealand Landscape since 2007. Born and raised in Christchurch, Dale’s high school years were spent in Australia, however his love for New Zealand vistas, flora and fauna soon drew him home again. “I grew up as a typical Kiwi enjoying the outdoors (particularly beaches) and I try to recreate that sense of a summer family holiday that is so nostalgic for myself and many other kiwis. I love the way by using this subject I can create a sense of movement, while also instilling a feeling of calm & peace for the viewer.”
Dale uses both acrylics and oils to render his detailed paintings, taking his technical cues from ‘the old masters’ while only using the finest materials, something he feels is evident and an important factor in the outcome of his work.
Parnell Gallery has represented Dale Gallagher since 2017.
