We are looking for someone to work in sole charge of the gallery on Sunday’s and work as part of the team on 2-3 additional days during the week.
A highly varied position, this would be a great opportunity for someone who is great with people, confident and can multi task in a fast paced environment.
The communication skills you will develop would translate into other arts related roles as well as other industries.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
− Client Services would make up around 50% of the role – dealing with clients face to face in the gallery, answering queries, responding to client enquiry emails, processing sales
− Sole charge of gallery on Sunday, 11am-4pm
− Handling of artworks including packaging & assisting the director with hanging (previous experience not required)
− Exhibitions – assisting with monthly exhibition set up and hosting on Tuesday evenings
− Keeping the gallery organised and tidy
− An interest in photography / photoshop editing / social media would be a great plus and could form part of the role if the successful candidate was interested in this work, it is however not necessary
− Ad hoc administration duties
REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES
− Excellent communication skills, articulate in person, on the phone and in writing
− Professional & well presented
− Friendly, good listener, and outgoing personality. Able to establish good rapport with clients
− Extremely high attention to detail
− Self motivated, responsible & flexible
− Proactive & fast learner, able to multi task and handle unexpected situations in a calm and professional manner
− Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
− Previous gallery or retail experience would be beneficial
− Basic knowledge of Photoshop would be advantageous (but not a requirement)
