Elliot Love

Preview: Thursday 30 October, 5.30-7pm
Exhibition: 30 October - 13 November
Continuing his compelling exploration of entropy and the urban landscape, Love depicts the decaying yet enduring icons of 20th-century suburbia: cars from the 1960s through the late ’90s, captured in moments of stillness against the architectural backdrop of the city.

Working in oil on a strikingly intimate scale, Love renders each composition with sensitivity and precision, where a glint of afternoon light across a windscreen or the softened edges of ageing paintwork becomes as meaningful as the car itself. In acutely perceived paintings absent of people yet charged with presence, Love draws us into a mode of discreet observation, inviting us to consider the subtle narratives held within the scene: What history lingers here? What stories remain just beyond view?

With his signature titling, naming the car and the exact location or time of discovery, Love anchors each work in real experience, offering not just a view, but a moment suspended.
