‘Back of Beyond, Paratītahi Tarns, Nelson Lakes National Park, New Zealand’ is a limited edition of only 150 prints. Emerging over the final ridge before plunging down into the Arnst River valley you come across what seems like paradise. The Paratītahi Tarns sit together, nestled in a gentle rolling basin of tussock with a glimpse of Mt Chittenden (2205m) in the far distance. The second image shows the large sized print.

All limited edition prints are signed, numbered and titled by the artist.

Michelle Bellamy is a contemporary painter living in Nelson, specialising in capturing the New Zealand landscape with exquisite detail.

An avid mountaineer, Bellamy takes inspiration from exploring the corners and nooks of New Zealand’s lakes and surrounding inhabited landscapes. Back in the studio she creates meticulously detailed large and mid-scale paintings in acrylic on board. Her captivating geographic representations register and acknowledge a human presence on the landscape through the inclusion of familiar features such as South Island cribs and huts, set amongst exquisitely rendered tussock grasses and native flora. Bellamy’s precision brushwork and skilful layering of colour serves to intensify the clarity of New Zealand’s natural light and beauty.
