“For the last 19 years, since my trip to America, I’ve been looking at the original oil of ‘Red Reflections’ on the wall behind our TV. It marks a lesson learnt on that trip from seeing a Picasso, where he used a crisscross pattern to solve a problem with a blank background, so on my return I reworked ‘Red Reflections’ employing this solution.”
