Much of Tim Jones’ process is organic and ‘in the moment’, conceptualising and composing throughout the act of painting. However, the colour palette is meticulously considered prior to beginning a new work. Jones, while selecting hues for a painting instinctually, references his myriad swatches, tests, and samples from previous paintings that he has catalogued and stored for continued connection and fluidity between his bodies of work.

Frequently inspired by moments and experiences in the natural environment, Jones’ palette throughout his current body of work is earthy and elemental, emphasising an enticing sense of grounding within a beautiful and harmonious chaos of form and colour.
